Introduction

Dewey Labs ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our websites and applications, including the Glimpse iOS app and the Glimpse website.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services:

  • Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. If you create an account with email and password, your password is stored securely using one-way hashing — we cannot read it.
  • User-generated content: Content you create within Glimpse — including flashcard decks, quizzes, to-do lists, quote boards, countdowns, and review history — is stored to provide the service. Card images you attach are downloaded from our servers and stored locally on your device.
  • Uploaded documents (Pro feature): When you upload documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or text files), the text content is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. For AI card generation, document text is not retained after processing. For study objectives, extracted text is stored on our servers to support ongoing study sessions, document viewing, and concept review. You can delete your documents at any time, which removes the stored text. See the Anthropic section under Third-Party Services below.
  • On-device data: Glimpse stores authentication credentials securely in your device's keychain. Content names are indexed to your device's local search (Spotlight) to help you find items quickly. The app may also send local notifications for study reminders you configure. This data stays on your device.
  • Device information: If you enable push notifications on iOS, we store your device's push notification token to deliver sync notifications.
  • Subscription information: If you subscribe to Glimpse Pro, we store your subscription status, platform (Apple or Stripe), and expiration date. We do not store full payment details.

Cookies

Our websites use only essential cookies required for site functionality (such as session management). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Apple Sign-In: We use Sign in with Apple as an authentication provider. Apple's privacy policy applies to the sign-in process. We receive only your Apple user identifier and optional email address.
  • Google Sign-In: We use Google OAuth as an authentication provider. Google's privacy policy applies to the sign-in process. We receive only your Google user identifier and email address.
  • Apple App Store: For iOS subscriptions, Apple processes payments and sends us transaction status updates. We do not receive your payment card details.
  • Stripe: For web subscriptions, Stripe processes payments on our behalf. We store a Stripe customer identifier but do not have access to your full payment card details. Learn more at stripe.com/privacy .
  • Sentry: We use Sentry for error tracking to monitor and fix issues in our web application and iOS app. Sentry receives error reports and request metadata but we have disabled the collection of personally identifiable information. Learn more at sentry.io/privacy .
  • Anthropic (Pro feature): When you use AI-powered features, extracted text from your uploaded documents is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate study content (flashcards, quiz questions, concept extraction, milestone scheduling). We do not send personal information — only the document text. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. Learn more at anthropic.com/policies/privacy .
  • TelemetryDeck: The Glimpse iOS app and website use TelemetryDeck for privacy-friendly analytics. TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data or use cookies. Learn more at telemetrydeck.com/privacy .
  • Apple Push Notification Service: We use APNs to send sync notifications to your iOS device. Your device token is stored only for this purpose and is deleted when you remove the device from your account.

Tracking

Glimpse does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or any cross-app tracking technologies.

Children's Privacy

Glimpse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Content you create is private by default. If you choose to share a flashcard deck or quiz via a share link, the shared content becomes viewable by anyone with the link.

Data Retention

When you delete content within Glimpse, it is soft-deleted and retained in our database for a period of time to support sync and recovery. You may request permanent deletion of your data by contacting us.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), filtered logging of sensitive parameters, and rate limiting. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Location

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. Third-party services we use (including Anthropic, Stripe, Sentry, and TelemetryDeck) may also process data in the United States. By using our services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Delete your personal data and account. You can delete individual content within the app, or contact us to request full account deletion.
  • Export your content. Contact us to request a copy of your data in a portable format.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
